THE STORY

When two purpose driven transportation companies - Wabtec Corporation and GE Transportation merged, they approached adrianse* to design their new design and development centre spread across 5 floors. In an effort to balance cultural expectations of different teams within the two organisations, the office was designed as a bright, open space interspersed with meeting and collaboration points.

Exposed ceilings, cement floor passageways create a semi-industrial feel which along with the playful branding hint at Wabtec's legacy of being a freight and transit rail supply leader. Social spaces were created at each entrance to allow team members to unwind and allow for conversations to flow over cups of coffee.
