We are seeking candidates who are self-starting, curious and growth-driven, passionate about the future of space design, and interested in joining an international firm as a global thought-leader. This individual will perform an eclectic variety of tasks ranging from client and project support to independent research and the writing of articles for publication.

Key Responsibilities:

  • 8+ years of relevant experience in strategy and thought leadership for workplace design.
  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in design, business, marketing, sociology, psychology, education, behavioral science, or relevant field.
  • Exceptional public speaking, research, and writing skills.
  • Highly knowledgeable of global trends especially in topics about people-centered design for the workplace and other environments.
  • Ability to gather and synthesize data as well as to conduct interviews and to formulate and administer surveys and workshops for client groups.
  • Ability to summarize and clearly convey collected data and feedback to client, in-house designers and other stakeholders.
  • Experience in MS Office and/or similar software.
  • Candidates must have a demonstrated record of public speaking and written works.

Responsibilities will include a rich variety of work ranging from the practical (project delivery) to the hypothetical (research and documentation.) Work in support of adrianse* design contracts with established US clients may include workplace programming, especially in the context of the hybrid office, spatial and human effect of new technologies, and change management. At the other end of the spectrum, research and reporting tasks could explore trends and future forecasts for a variety of topics including workplace, urban environments, social contexts, sustainability, global climate, health and wellness. While this range is broad, your work on the practical side will inform the hypothetical, and vice versa.

Your adrianse* colleagues will be in residence around the world, so comfort with off-hours international conference calls in multiple time zones as well as cross-cultural sensitivity is required. The Director of Design Strategy reports to the Director USA. This is a work-from-home position, but US travel and some international travel may be required.
